He basically was able to flash his talent after leaving buzzfeed. His stuff with them was pretty bad though. Recycled jokes, recycled poses and panels. Basically no creativity. Probably had to do with the workload

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you think about post longevity on lemmyEnglish
3·4 days agoIt seems like a lot of instances are purging old posts. Which makes sense as the operators are paying to store them and it isn’t cheap to continually add storage for rarely accessed content. I don’t know a real good way around it other than just having the bigger instances that are willing to archive everything just not respect deletion requests which I don’t think is ideal either.
Ultimately I think it’s probably best to consider these posts ephemeral. And using a clipping service to store information we want to retain on our own hard drives. It will prevent Lenny from being used as a knowledge repository but I don’t know how else you can make it cost effective otherwise. It’s not like Lemmy is making anyone money

Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•‘R-tarded’ is a slur, and I’m sick of otherwise “liberal” people going along with the right’s move to renormalize itEnglish
42·5 days agoI get what you are saying but if idiotic and imbecile are still available as insults and are further from medical definition than retard then why not just use them instead? The point being is that retard still has the bite of comparing the person to the mentally disabled and the others don’t.

4·5 days agoI agree. Often there is a better insult to use against someone who is being idiotic that’s not also disparaging to an unrelated group.
My CRT doesn’t have a SCART input but it does have S-Video. I have a scart to S video adapter that I run to the CRT that looks great. I’d run it to a retrotink 5x/4k if you wanted to play on a widescreen flat panel. It looks great but it’s pricey
The trick is too just play the 20 year old game online still instead of moving on to the newer shooters. Everyone still playing is 30+ and have diminished reaction time as well so you still have a shot lol.

81·9 days agoYeah you can definitely bully AI into giving you some thing that will run if you yell at it long enough. I don’t have that kind of patience
Edit: typically I see it just silently dump errors to /dev/null if you complain about it not working lol

82·9 days agoAI can help you be more agile in getting out a PoC but vibe coding always ends up eating itself and you either aren’t capable enough to fix it (because you are a vibe coder) or you spend more time on the back 9, trying to clean up the code so you don’t have so many hacks and redundancy because the AI was too literal or hallucinated fake libraries that return null or its context window expired and it wrote 5 different versions of the same function

2·15 days agoDouble dash had the best drifting mechanics in the series imo. Really only DS and DD are the only ones who have more than hold a drift long enough for mini turbo as their drifting mechanics
