Well, the start of apple butter! 7ish lbs of apples, 1/2 cup of sugar and brown sugar, couple teaspoons of cinnamon, tablespoon of vanilla, dash of salt, and a bit of nutmeg. Once cooked down and pureed, I’ll can it!

While I do ship it to people, the entire first batch is accounted for unfortunately! XD So good luck making your own! It really makes the house smell amazing!

Slow cooking? How long does that take? I’ve used a pressure cooker to make applesauce really fast, but then obviously you’d have to evaporate off a lot of moisture to get butter.

I let it go for most of a day, at least 8 hours. Buuut I prefer the slow method. I plan around my lack of energy by starting the process, taking a nap while it cooks down, then can it later, usually at night so the steam filled kitchen doesn’t melt me as much!

That does not make any sense. Just use a pressure cooker. Saves a lot of energy and you wouldn’t have the steam issue. By the way, windows or fans help.
