RetroGaming@lemmy.world•TIL there was a TV tuner attachment for the Game Gear!English
83·21 hours agoThe game gear had two major issues:
-It was too far ahead of its time (something SEGA unfortunately did multiple times, cfr Dreamcast’s online gaming capabilities)
-Battery life sucked major donkey cock
It was also somewhat pricey, but the former point was paramount.

9·21 hours agoI lost my job to overseas Indians and I don’t blame them one lick. Blame the capitalists sending those jobs overseas.

8·21 hours agoThere was always going to be a point where “hurting other people” would finally take a backseat to “staying the fuck alive yourself”. This appears to be this point. For some at least.
It’s obviously two bears high fiving.

Why thrice? It implies it was good enough for more than one watch, but three seems like such an arbitrary number?
“Oi! You got a loicense for that?”

0·4 days agoI’ve only really been in one breach. This one is actually a breach of a “security firm” (incompetent idiots) who aggregated login data from the dark web themselves, essentially doing the blackhats’ work for them.
This is also EXACTLY why requiring online interactions to be verified with government ID is a terrible idea. Hackers will similarly be able to gain all possible wanted data in a single location. It’s simply too tempting of a target not to shoot for.

Your permanently burned out synapses will thank you for the vacation.
Confused the “deploy to PROD” with “deploy to staging” again huh?

Programming@programming.dev•What could be the best way to introduce the world of computers to a kid, let's say of 6 years old, so that he learns to handle it like a toy and stops dreading it like some esoteric, arcane and
0·13 days agoI’m ancient, but I learned both to use the computer and English when I started gaming on the family Amiga at around age 6. My fondest memories were of adventure games like King’s Quest and Space Quest, which incidentally required decent command of English.
There’s tons of more modern and kid-friendly adventure games out there nowadays, but the principle stands.

Been on Librewolf for several months now, can’t recommend it enough.
