Hot take: don’t buy Apple products, specifically because they gatekeep functionality for the crime of…checks notes…using your own hardware on platforms not made by Apple.

Absolute kudos to the folks who figured out how to free their AirPods, but you shouldn’t have to fully buy into Apple’s ecosystem to get a full featureset, and they won’t care to fix things unless and until their behavior affects their bottom line.

I vaguely remember it having a USB mode, but it’s been a long time. Check the settings.

I think there’s some visual improvements, but I can’t say I’m a fan of every change they’ve made.

Also, chargebacks aren’t zero-sum for the merchant. It costs them money on top of the cost of the sale, so enough people doing it would likely lead to legal action against the AI companies that negatively affect merchants’ bottom line.

The original Steam Controller case has a compartment for a set of spares. It’s not really a big deal having to carry and swap batteries, though not knowing what the charge level is can put you in a bind when your controller goes out at an inopportune moment!

That’s honestly probably a good sign. It means we’ve now come to a point in scientific achievement where that is a genuine possibility that we consider.
